Broad Market Prospects For Disposable Hygiene Fabrics

Feb. 05, 2020

The quality of disposable hygiene products has a huge impact on the user experience of diapers and sanitary napkins. Disposable sanitary products mainly refer to diapers and sanitary napkins. In terms of structure, they can be divided into a surface layer, a diversion layer, an absorbent core, a bottom layer and a coating layer. Divided into broad categories, disposable sanitary products cover materials are mainly two types of perforated non-woven fabric and PE perforated film.

The domestic disposable sanitary products market has been expanded and the penetration rate of sanitary products has continued to increase. 1) China's diaper market continues to expand. In 2016, the size of China's diaper market was US $ 7.4 billion, with a CAGR of 11.8% in the past three years. In 2015, the market penetration rate was 46%. Compared with the penetration rate of 80% in foreign developed countries, the market scale still has a large room for growth, driving the growth of the upstream fabric industry. 2) Women's hygiene products are upgraded to high-end fabrics. In 2016, the size of China's sanitary napkin market was 12 billion U.S. dollars, which was mature. The sanitary napkin face fabric has been upgraded many times, and the trend of high-end and comfortable development has increased the demand for perforated nonwovens and PE perforated films.

 Non-Woven Sanitary Materials

Non-Woven Sanitary Materials

The barrier to entry for the supply of surface materials is high, and market barriers are high. The downstream brand end has a high concentration of market share, and major customers have strict standards for the selection of surface fabrics and a long certification cycle. The high threshold for fabric supply is conducive to the development of high-quality leaders in the upstream industry.

1.The quality of the surface layer material directly affects the market acceptance of diapers and sanitary napkins

Disposable sanitary products mainly refer to diapers and sanitary napkins. Structurally, disposable sanitary products can be divided into a surface layer, a disposable under pad, an absorbent core, a bottom layer and a coating layer.

1) Surface layer: It is in direct contact with the user's skin. Its main function is to allow the liquid to penetrate quickly and effectively prevent backfiltration, and keep the surface layer dry. The company's perforated non-woven fabrics and PE perforated film products are applied to the surface material of disposable pads and sanitary napkins for women.

2) Diversion layer: Disperse and transfer the liquid received by the surface layer to the absorption layer to ensure that the absorption layer can efficiently absorb the liquid.

3) Absorbent core: used to capture and quickly absorb liquid, mainly composed of high-molecular water-absorbing resin (SAP), fluff pulp, absorbent paper, and wood pulp.

4) Bottom layer: used to prevent liquid leakage.

Divided into categories, non-woven sanitary materials are mainly composed of perforated non-woven fabrics and PE perforated films.

1) Perforated non-woven fabric. Non-woven fabrics can be divided into long-fiber non-woven fabrics and short-fiber non-woven fabrics. Long-fiber non-woven fabrics are mainly spunbond non-woven fabrics, which are strong and low in price. Staple non-woven fabrics have lower strength and better water permeability. They are divided into two types: hot-rolled and hot-air formed. The surface of hot-rolled non-woven fabrics is strong, smooth, and elastic. The molded non-woven fabric has good softness and good skin-friendly effect. Generally, high-end products are used more. Punched non-woven fabrics are mostly used as the surface material of disposable diapers. Through 3D tapered perforation, perforated non-woven fabric is used as the surface layer material, which can effectively prevent the liquid from flowing back while accelerating the rate of liquid infiltration. At present, the non-woven fabrics used in the field of disposable sanitary product surface materials are mainly spunbond non-woven fabrics and hot air non-woven fabrics. Hot-air non-woven fabrics are usually used as surface materials for high-end sanitary napkins and diaper products. Spunbond non-woven fabrics are usually used as surface materials for low-end products, as well as sanitary napkins, bottom materials for diapers, and wrapping materials. The company's non-woven fabrics are mainly 3D perforated hot air non-woven fabrics, and there are also a small number of 3D perforated spunbond non-woven products.
