Advantages And Disadvantages of Non-Woven Products

Nov. 12, 2019

Nonwovens, also known as nonwovens, are made of oriented or random fibers. It is called cloth because of its appearance and some properties.

The non-woven fabric is moisture-proof, breathable, flexible, light, non combustion supporting, easy to decompose, non-toxic and non irritant, rich in color, low in price and recyclable. For example, polypropylene (PP material) particles are mostly used as raw materials, which are produced by continuous one-step process of high-temperature melting, wire spraying, sizing and hot rolling.

What are the advantages of nonwoven products: Molton Wash Glove

1. Light weight: polypropylene resin is the main raw material, with the proportion of only 0.9,only three fifths of cotton is fluffy and feels good.

2. Softness: it is composed of fine fiber (2-3D) and formed by light spot hot-melt bonding. The finished product is soft and comfortable.

3. Water pumping and air permeability: polypropylene chips do not absorb water, have zero moisture content, and the finished product has good water pumping performance. It is composed of 100% fiber with porosity, good air permeability, easy to keep the cloth dry and easy to wash.

4. Non toxic and non irritant: the product is produced with FDA food grade raw materials, free of other chemical ingredients, stable performance, non-toxic, non odor and non irritant to the skin.

5. Antibacterial and anti chemical agents: polypropylene is a kind of chemical blunt substance, which is not moth eaten, and can be isolated from the corrosion of bacteria and insects in the liquid; antibacterial, alkali corrosion and finished products do not affect the strength due to corrosion.

6. Antibacterial. The product has the property of pulling water, no mildew, and can isolate the bacteria and insects in the liquid, no mildew and moth.

7. Good physical properties. The strength of the product is better than that of the general staple fiber product. The strength of the product is not directional and the vertical and horizontal strength are similar.

8. In terms of environmental protection, most of the raw materials used for non-woven fabrics are polypropylene, while the raw materials for plastic bags are polyethylene. Although the names of the two substances are similar, their chemical structures are quite different. The chemical molecular structure of polyethylene is very stable and very difficult to degrade, so it takes 300 years for the plastic bags to decompose; while the chemical structure of polypropylene is not solid, and the molecular chain is easy to break, so it can be effectively degraded, and enter the next environmental cycle in the non-toxic form, a non-woven shopping bag can decompose completely in 90 days.

What are the disadvantages of nonwoven products: Spun Lance Washing Glove

Spun Lance Washing Glove

1. Poor strength and durability compared with textile fabrics.

2. It cannot be cleaned like other cloth.

3. The fibers are arranged in a certain direction, so they are easy to crack in a right angle direction and so on. Therefore, the improvement of production methods mainly focuses on the improvement of prevention of division.
